Grades and characteristics of flooring substrates.

The floor substrate is a component of composite flooring. The basic composition of the substrate is almost the same, it just depends on the quality, regardless of the brand of substrate; the floor substrate accounts for more than 90% of the entire floor composition (in terms of solids) , The substrate accounts for about 70% of the cost structure of the entire laminate flooring. Timber resource price and supply status are the core factors of base material cost. In addition, due to the difference in the material composition of the base material and the difference in the use of adhesives, the difference in the cost of the processing equipment is different.
High-grade E1 base material is the best base material, and the cost of finished products of different grades of products varies greatly. According to the current national standards, among the 17 main comprehensive performance indicators that can be tested for laminate flooring, 15 are related to the base material. useful life. Common things such as the impact resistance of the product, the moisture resistance of the product, and the dimensional stability of the product are all closely related to the quality of the substrate. According to the results of national sampling inspection, more than 70% of the reasons for the unqualified laminate flooring are caused by the quality of the base material. In order to reduce costs, some manufacturers use inferior raw materials and backward production processes to process black-core substrates. The distinctive feature of black-core substrates is that they use some raw materials that are not suitable for floor substrates, such as inconsistent tree species, and use bark, sawdust, etc. as The raw material of the base material, such a base material fiber cannot achieve the proper physical and mechanical properties during the pressing process, and the comprehensive performance cannot be qualified at all. The cost of substrates made of such raw materials is far lower than that of correctly selected substrates. Black-hearted substrates not only fail to meet the physical and mechanical properties, but also have no way to consider the health quality.
One is good density. The density of the substrate affects the physical and mechanical properties of the product and directly affects the quality of the floor. The national standard requires the density of the floor to be ≥ 0.80g/cm3. Identification tips: Feel the weight of the floor with your hands. By comparing the weight and weight of the two floors, good floors generally have high density and feel heavier; good floor substrates have uniform particles without variegation, and feel hard to the touch, while inferior floor substrates have rough particles, different shades of color, and hair.
The second is the water absorption thickness expansion rate. The water absorption thickness expansion rate reflects the moisture-proof performance of the product, the lower the index, the better the moisture-proof performance. In the current national standard for laminate flooring, the water absorption thickness expansion rate is required to be ≤2.5% (superior product). Identification tips: use a small piece of floor specimen to soak in room temperature water for 24 hours, to see the size of the thickness expansion, the quality of the small expansion is better.
A high-quality substrate should have the following characteristics:
First, the wood must be fresh enough without rot and excess bark. “Otherwise, the woodiness of wood fibers will be reduced, the strength of the floor will be insufficient, and the service life will be shortened.”
Secondly, it is necessary to ensure that the densities of different wood materials used are close, preferably a single wood species. In order to better control the purity and freshness of the wood species, it is best for the production enterprise to be built in the place where the wood grows, and to choose a fixed tree species, so as to ensure the uniform physical properties and mechanical processing performance of the wood fibers used to manufacture wooden floors. With such conditions, the wooden floor can have a more stable quality.
